BBC News had a technical glitch today during the streaming of President Biden's meeting with King Charles.

During a news segment where BBC broadcasters were narrating the order of the day for the meeting the picture suddenly dropped out, with the colour bars error screen instantly flashing up.

This was the first time the US President would meet Charles in his new role as the King.

The BBC covered the event extensively with Biden visiting Windsor for the meeting.

However, as the broadcasters discussed Biden's visit with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Charles, the camera shot of Windsor Castle disappeared.

With the lower title treatment still on the screen saying: "Breaking" many viewers took to social media to point out how literal that was in that moment.

An onlooker said: "BBC Breaking v accurate, there."

"Breaking or broken," someone chimed in.

Many of the comments insinuated that they linked the broken screen message to the current ongoing investigation into a BBC presenter.

When the temporary colourful holding graphic popped up, it showed text that mid-screen said: "Sky News SNO2."

To which a spectator replied: "Still find it funny when BBC News use Sky News feed, or vice versa. Even more funny when the feed goes down! #Oops."

A second viewer questioned this also: "Forgive my ignorance, but why does it say Sky News? Were they using their feed?"

With the recent Taylor Swift ticket fiasco and a ticketing platform breaking down, one onlooker likened the mishap to trying to get tickets to see the pop star.

A viewer joked: "Me trying to get wheelchair tickets for #TaylorSwift at Wembley."

The US president added the parliamentary and royal visit to his journey to the Nato summit, which is being held this year in Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
