Premium Bond results for August 2023 have been announced today - so have you woken up £1million richer?
The first £1million prize went to a Premium Bond holder living in Hereford and Worcester. They bought their winning bond 522MP682337 in December 2022 and have the maximum £50,000 invested.
The second £1million winner is from Essex with the bond number 535RC655361. Their winning bond was purchased in April 2023 and they hold £23,700 in Premium Bonds.
Premium Bonds are a savings product by National Savings & Investment (NS&I) - but instead of getting interest on your money, you're entered into a monthly prize draw.

Premium Bond winners for February announced - two people are £1million richerThis means your chance of getting any money back is completely down to chance - and you may not win anything at all. You get a unique bond number for every £1 invested and each month, you can win between £25 and £1million tax free.
There are two £1million prizes up for grabs each month, compared to over two million £25 prizes that are given away. The minimum amount you can have invested in Premium Bonds is £25, and the maximum is £50,000.
You can cash in all or part of your Premium Bonds at any time.
Jill Waters, NS&I Retail Director, said: “Congratulations to our two millionaires from Hereford & Worcester and Essex. Both of our winners waited under a year to win the jackpot, with one winning after eight months and the other after just four months. This shows that big prizes can be won at any time, regardless of how long you’ve had your Premium Bonds. We hope each of our millionaires enjoys their winnings.
“The Premium Bonds prize fund rate has now hit 4%, the highest it’s been since 2007, meaning we’ll be paying out over £404 million in prizes this month to lucky winners up and down the country.”
The easiest way to see if you've won is to use the NS&I prize checker online, or the Premium Bonds prize checker app. If you have an Amazon Alexa, you can ask it to tell you the latest winning numbers.
Customers can choose to have their prizes paid into their bank account, or to have them reinvested into new Premium Bonds. You should be emailed or sent a text message from NS&I if you've won.
At the moment the odds of a bond winning each month are 22,000 to 1 for every £1 bond - although the vast majority of the prizes awarded each month are £25.
NS&I recently announced its prize rate will rise from 3.7% to 4% from its August 2023 draw. It estimates this change will see an extra £30 million added to the prize fund, with 460,000 extra prizes up for grabs.
However, the jackpot prize of £1million will still be awarded to only two winners.
