Jake Paul has hit back at the alleged 'leaked' 2021 Instagram DMs from his coach Shane Mosley, insisting the messages are "fake".
Earlier this week, the Paul camp found itself in controversy as Paul's long-time rival Dillon Danis exposed messages purportedly from Mosley to him. In the DMs, the coach reportedly told him to pretend an injury was worse than it truly was in order to lower his opponent's guard and have a better chance at scoring the big money fight.
Danis is an infamous social media troll and regularly shares fake messages from fighters and celebrities. But he has posted multiple different angles that show a seemingly impossible to discredit series of messages from Mosley, which include a warning not to share their content online.
But asked by Mirror Fighting yesterday at the open workout for his fight with Nate Diaz what he had to say about Mosley's alleged messages, Paul responded: "It's fake, stop asking stupid s*** it's clearly fake." Mosley has also denied the messages, claiming that he wasn't controlling his social media at the time.
"Seeing a bunch of noise on social media today," Mosley wrote on Instagram, "For the record three years ago I didn't even control my own social media. Now I do. To be clear, Jake Paul would annihilate Dillon Danis, but it would never get sanctioned. Jake's a boxer. What they are doing are unsanctioned exhibitions and are not on Jake's level. Saturday night you will see."
Mirror Football's Premier League team of 2022 as champions dominateThe messages were supposedly sent in January of 2021 and show Mosley offering to train Danis for a potential bout with Paul, which ended up falling by the wayside in favour of his fight with Ben Askren. He explains that the pair had fallen out over a personal matter, before offering Danis a lot of advice on how to recover from a knee injury.

And it takes a nasty turn when Mosley writes: "Doubt Jake will make the fight with you if he knows your knee is good though, so keep it on the low if you really trying to make that fight. Definitely wouldn’t let it be known you talking me to about training or tips. He definitely ain’t signing up to fight you then,"
"He been b****ng because I want June and he wants March. I don’t think he will take it, just want a bit more time for my knee," Danis replies, before Mosley responds again with: “He doesn’t want you to have time to heal. I know his weakness, if anyone knows I know.
"If it was me, knowing how J works. Best thing to do is leak fake info about how your knee is shot for good and you won’t be in shape to fight in March or June. He and his team will love to fight a tripped fighter but it has to be leaked the right way so they would believe it, that would be my thought."
