Manchester United are eyeing Leeds star Tyler Adams as an alternative to Sofyan Amrabat as they seek more summer signings.

Erik ten Hag recently landed his No 9 by signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, who joins Mason Mount and Andre Onana as new faces at Old Trafford this summer. United now want to further bolster their midfield but aren't putting all their focus on the Moroccan.

Amrabat excelled at the World Cup last winter, which put him firmly in the shop window with Fiorentina hoping to keep their midfielder. Ten Hag worked with him previously and wants to bring him to Manchester, but if they fail in their pursuit, Leeds' American international could be targeted, as per the Daily Mail.

Adams was a star for the Yorkshire side last term despite their relegation. His absence was telling and the Whites massively struggled without him. Adams may not want to play in England's second tier and several Premier League outfits have been linked with his signature.

Everton's Amadou Onana is another man they are considering. The Belgian started 29 times in the league last term as the Toffees secured top-flight status on the final day. Onana's combative style could further bolster United's engine room with Ten Hag weighing up his options.

Casemiro proved to be an inspired signing last term and commanded a role in the middle of the park, earning huge plaudits for how he inspired United to silverware. Bruno Fernandes was also a regular and is now the club's captain with Mount and Christian Eriksen adding further creativity.

Several other players face an uncertain couple of weeks however with United's midfield resources still being reviewed. Donny van de Beek, who may have thought he'd be utilised more by Ten Hag, has continued to struggle for minutes and is being linked with a switch to Real Sociedad.

Fred too could move on having been linked first with Fulham, but Galatasaray now seem a more likely option. Scott McTominay has lost his spot as a starter and is attracting attention from elsewhere. The likes of Dean Henderson and Harry Maguire could also seek pastures new before the window closes with their minutes set to be limited.

United finished their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday as Facundo Pellistri bagged a stoppage-time equaliser. Ten Hag's first assignment of the Premier League campaign will be against Wolves on Monday as his side aim to improve on their third-place finish last term.
