"In the end, it's sometimes the very personal things that happen to you as an entertainer that take on great meaning."
In the later years of Tony's career, he was often managed by his sons.
He shared with the Washington Post: "They do a beautiful job. They just want me to sing and paint, and they take care of all of the details.
"They work hard to make sure nothing rubs my dignity or pierces the vanity."

Born on February 3, 1954, D'Andrea 'Danny' Bennett is Tony's eldest son.
From 1979 to his 2021 retirement, Danny managed the Emmy Award winner's career and was often credited for reviving it.
"I realize how fortunate I am to have someone in Danny that is truly looking out for my best interests and not just in it for the money," Tony said of his older son via The New York Times.
Danny has three children of his own; two daughters named Kelsey and Rémy, as well as a son with his girlfriend Hadley Spanier.
