CELEBRITY Big Brother star Hardeep Singh Kohli has been arrested and charged over alleged sex offences.

The BBC comedian, 54, was being probed by cops after allegations of misconduct.

Police Scotland confirmed the former The One Show's star's alleged offences were "non-recent."

The comic has been released and is due to appear in court at a later date.

A report has also been made to the Procurator Fiscal.

A force spokesperson said: "A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with allegations of non-recent sexual offences.

"He has been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. 

"A report of the circumstances has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Hardeep Singh Kohli entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in August 2018.

He was evicted after going up against psychic Sally Morgan in the live vote.

Kohli was the director of the BAFTA-winning children's show It'll Never Work and worked as a reporter on The One Show.

In 2004, he starred in Channel 4's Meet the Magoons and he reached the final of Celebrity MasterChef in 2006, which soon led to presenting New British Kitchen with John Torode.

Other TV appearances include a celebrity edition of The Apprentice, The Wright Stuff, and he also hosted CBBC game show Get 100.
