Clear your calendars, England are in a World Cup final.

The Lionesses booked their place in the final showdown against Spain on Sunday with an emphatic 3-1 win over co-hosts Australia in Sydney. Ella Toone opened the scoring in the first half, but Sam Kerr showed why she's the best in the world with an outstanding strike from range to put Australia back on level terms in the second half.

As they have done throughout the tournament, Sarina Wiegman's side weathered the storm and mustered up a response 10 minutes later as Lauren Hemp capitalised on a defensive error to restore England's lead. Alessia Russo then put their progression beyond doubt by making it 3-1 with just minutes left to play.

They will now take on Spain in the final show piece on Sunday. Jorge Vilda's side secured their spot on Tuesday beating Sweden 2-1 in the other semi-final.

The final against Spain will take place at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Sunday. Kick-off is at 11am UK time, which is 8pm local time.

How to watch the final

The BBC and ITV share broadcasting rights in England for this summer's tournament. Both will be showing the final on Sunday.

BBC's coverage will get underway at 10am on Sunday, while ITV1 will begin their pre-match build-up at 10:15am.

Team news

It's good news for England as Lauren James will be available for selection again after serving a two-match suspension. The Chelsea winger was shown a red card in the round-of-16 clash against Nigeria for a stamp on Michelle Alozie.

Toone has filled in throughout her absence in the quarter-final win over Colombia and semi-final victory over Australia. Wiegman will now face a selection headache as she has to decide whether James comes straight back into the starting line-up against Spain, or whether Toone will keep her place.
