Chantelle Houghton has revealed the secret to her four-stone weight loss as she turns 40.
The Big Brother legend, who won the Channel 4 reality show in 2006 after entering the series as a fake’ celebrity’ and walking home with the £25,000 cash prize money, celebrated the milestone birthday today – and says she feels fitter and healthier than ever.
In the past few months Chantelle has overhauled her diet and added personal training sessions and boxing into her fitness regime after saying she was so overweight “people thought I was pregnant”.
Mum-of-one Chantelle – who shares 11-year-old daughter Dolly with ex-boyfriend Alex Reid – said the one thing that really helped transform her figure back to a 9st 6lbs size eight was cutting out all sugar and no longer eating any processed foods.

She said her secret was cutting out all sugar and processed foods from her diet (Instagram)“I’ve lost about four and a half stone... physically and mentally I feel amazing. I’m completely sugar-free. I don’t eat or drink any sugar. The effect of doing that has had such a positive effect on me. I’m the healthiest and fittest I’ve ever been,” she said in a joint interview with The Sun and Ice 36.

She continued: “I can actually walk into a shop and pick clothes off a hanger, get my size and go and buy it, rather than having to try to make sure it hides this and doesn’t go there. It’s just really freeing to feel comfortable in your own body. I felt kind of trapped in my own body for a long time because I wasn’t happy with it. Now I don’t feel self-conscious. I just feel really happy and content.”
Last month, Chantelle took to Instagram to share photos of her new slimmed down figure on International Bikini Day and told her 70,000 followers she was “so proud” of how she looks now following years of yo-yo dieting.

Denying she had used anything artificial, Chantelle said: “My weight loss journey has been an enjoyable one... and I’ve done it by being kind to myself and naturally. “I get so many messages accusing me of using diet pills/injections and also some telling me that they can see my ‘liposuction scars’. I have NOT had liposuction and I have NOT taken diet pills or injections," she told.
Explaining how she did it, Chantelle added: “I am completely sugar-free (have a look and you’ll see that sugar is in so much food, even foods that claim to be ‘healthy’). I also don’t eat any processed food. My weight loss journey has been one of natural foods and kindness to my body. I am beyond proud of myself and I feel better than ever, mentally and physically.
"Cutting out sugar and processed food was the way that I lost weight, whether it’s the right way to do it I don’t know. So please don’t hate on me. I am healthy and happy and grateful for the beautiful life that I live today.”
