Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has reportedly broken up with his co-star girlfriend Jemma Donovan a few months after going public with their romance.
Back in April, the 24-year-old actor went Instagram official with the daughter of Jason Donovan, 23, by sharing a carousel of sweet photos and videos on his page. In one video, he even dropped down on one knee to jokingly propose to her while on a hike during their holiday.
Owen and Jemma only made their red carpet debut at the British Soap Awards 2023 in June. At the time, the two looked completely loved up as they posed for pictures. However, it seems like their romance has ended as the duo decided they were better off as friends.
Mirror have contacted Owen and Jemma's representatives for comment on their relationship. "They had great fun together but, long term, decided it's better to just be friends," a source claimed to The Sun. "They are both super-professional, so it won't change anything at work."
Jemma joined the Channel 4 soap in January as ‘party girl’ and ‘social media sensation’ Rayne Royce, while Owen is known as Romeo Nightingale on the soap. The soap heartthrob and Jemma sparked romance rumours in March when Jemma shared a snap of herself cuddling up to Owen on her 23rd birthday.
Hollyoaks fans left reeling as soap stars announce they are dating in real lifeHe was recently featured in a picture Jemma uploaded to her Instagram Stories on the weekend. In one photo, Owen poured wine into a glass at an outside restaurant, surrounded by diners. According to The Sun, the couple were joined by Jemma's mum Angie, her brother Zac and sister Molly for the trip. Neighbours legend Jason missed the holiday due to work, it's understood.
A source told the publication: "Owen seems to have gotten the Donovan family seal of approval after they started following him on Instagram ahead of the trip." In April, Owen shared a photo of his arms around Jemma and the pair holding hands at a restaurant, as they grinned at the camera, writing in the caption: "April fools."
In the past, Owen has dated a string of famous ladies including former Hollyoaks co-star Stephanie Davis, Love Island star Lana Jenkins and Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry. When Lana appeared on Love Island, he admitted to the Mirror he wouldn't watch the season as it felt a 'bit weird'.
"She’s a lovely girl and people will love her, but I’m not going to be watching. I feel like watching your ex move on to other people is a bit weird," he said.
