SHOPPERS are rushing to Amazon as the price of an iPhone 13 was slashed ahead of Apple releasing a new model.
The Apple iPhone handset has suddenly plunged in price by more than £300, while still offering many of the same features as its newer version.
There has now been a surge in discounted prices before the US tech giant launches its iPhone 15.
Consumer gurus say this is the best time to snap up newly-cheaper alternatives - though the colour can affect the cost.
The iPhone 13 was brought out in 2021 - and is now being described as still "a steal".

It's packed with many of the features still there in later iPhone models, as well as handling the latest iOS 17 system for updates.
And now Amazon traders have slashed more than £300 from its selling price.
While Apple still market the phone for £1,079, it can now be found on Amazon for almost £340 less at £739.99.
Consumer website Latest Deals told how the iPhone 13 "might not be the newest kid on the block" - but insisted it's "no slouch either".
Analysts there do caution, however, that those lowest prices are for the red iPhone 13 models.
Different-coloured versions have also ahead their prices cut, but might still cost between £850 and £900 instead.
And yet Latest Deals co-founder Tom Church insisted: "It's not every day you see such a hefty discount on such a pricey phone.
"If red's your colour, this is a deal not to be missed."
The iPhone 15 launch event is scheduled to happen next Tuesday, with the new model expected to hit the shelves a week later.
Fans are also hoping for a free iOS 17 update, as well as upgrades to other products such as the Apple Watch.

In the meantime, Apple iPhone-owners in the UK have been issued a summer hot weather warning regarding their devices.
