POLICE in Northern Ireland are investigating after a twin brother and sister were found dead in a flat in Belfast this weekend.

Stevie and Claire O’Neill, 37, were reported to have been found side-by-side in a property in Annadale Crescent on Saturday February 4.

The PSNI have said that the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

It is believed that two other males were also found at the property and were rushed to hospital.

Multiple emergency services arrived to the house including fire brigade, three ambulances, and up to five police vehicles, the Sunday World reported.

One man was arrested following the incident but has since been released on bail.

A 37-year-old mother of three, Claire had been living in the area with her five-year-old son.

Her twin brother, Stevie was visiting his sister at the time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the sudden deaths of two people at a house in the Annadale Crescent area of Belfast on Saturday, February 4.

“One man in his 40s has been arrested in relation to the investigation, and has since been released on police bail to allow for further police enquiries.

“A post mortem has taken place and the deaths are not being treated as suspicious at this time.”

Meanwhile, a young man in his 20s has died following a tragic car crash in Co Galway earlier this afternoon.

Gardai rushed to the scene of the one-vehicle collision that occurred on the N63 in Ballinasloe, in the townland of Creeveroe, Newbridge at approximately 12.45pm today.

The driver of the car, who is also in his 20s, is receiving medical attention at Portiuncula University Hospital.

The passenger, who was fatally injured in the crash, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed at this time and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

In a statement this evening, a spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N63 in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway this afternoon, Sunday 5th February 2023."

They continued: "A male passenger of the vehicle (aged in his 20s) was fatally injured during the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.

"His body has been taken to Portiuncula University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place."
