CASSIE Plummer sucked in son Tyrone Dobbs last night as she fake spun him a sob story about her hellish childhood as a child prostitute.
She blames her mother, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), for everything that’s gone wrong in her life – but she’s lying.
Having never known Cassie (Claire Sweeney), Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is desperate to believe the best in his mum, who came back into life earlier this year.
He always believed Cassie was dead and was shocked to learn that she was alive a few months ago – returning to Coronation Street for good in August after a stint in rehab.
She vowed to stay clean while he gets to know her, and her mum Evelyn even offered her some support. However, she ended up using the money Tyrone gave her to buy drugs and wound up back in the hospital after overdosing.

Tyrone continued to support Cassie, who again promised to try to get clean. She even attended a support group meeting in last night’s episode of the soap.
Afterward, Tyrone made an effort to get to know his mum more, asking him to tell him about her life since having him as a teenager.
However, instead of telling him the truth, she manipulated him with a fake sob story that she was sure would garner some sympathy.
Praying on his desire to have a relationship, Cassie told Tyrone that her mum, Evelyn, was responsible for the mess she made of her life.
She said it all started when she was kicked out of the house at 16, after which she was forced to become a prostitute.
Tyrone was horror stuck about what his mum had to endure and was quick to shift the blame to Evelyn, theorising that if she’d never thrown her out, Cassie wouldn’t have gone down that road and eventually turned to drugs.
Feeling sympathy for her, Tyrone welcomed Cassie back to his house.
Evelyn was obviously shocked and assured him that anything Cassie had told him was a pack of lies, explaining that the worst thing she ever did to her daughter was wash her mouth out with soap or tell her to take her elbows off the table. She also told him that Cassie already had a serious drug problem by the time she left home as a teen.
But Tyrone didn’t believe her and sided with his mum, letting Evelyn go and pack her bags. Although she obviously didn’t want to, the mechanic commented that it was for the best, since they weren’t on the same page.
