CORONATION Street fans are in shock after Spider Nugent was exposed as a cop - and left for dead by Griff.
The undercover detective - who is played by actor Martin Hancock in the ITV soap - slipped up and was confronted by Griff in a brutal showdown.

He was lured to the alley behind the cobbles by Max Turner.
But instead of finding Max in the alleyway, Spider walked into Griff’s trap.
“Hello Spider,” the thug said as Spider looked worried.

Griff began questioning Spider about all the incidents that have caused him to doubt Spider’s allegiance.
The former eco warrior tried to throw him off by revealing he was back with Toyah, but Griff was onto him.
“I’m not your mate, that’s why I didn’t tell you what we were planning - I don’t trust you.
“Questions, always with the questions. See at first I thought you were just losing your nerve, but it’s more than that, isn’t it? Always disappearing, never getting your hands dirty. You’re not just a grass, you’re a copper, aren’t you?
But as Spider warned him that they were onto him - he revealed that he had let Spider overhear exactly what he wanted to.
Then pulling out a crowbar, he attacked Spider and knocked him out.
Riffling through his pockets, Griff was determined to find proof that Spider was an undercover cop.
But when he couldn’t, he got angry and decided to finish the job and kill Spider for good.
However as he tried, Peter Barlow spotted them and he knocked Griff out of the way and got Spider to hospital.
With the news out, Toyah was supported by Peter and Leanne, but away from the cobbles, Griff was putting his plan into action.

Camping out, he told Max Turner that by tomorrow he would be a hero - as he plotted a vile bombing attack.
And fans are horrified by it all.
One wrote: "I can't believe this - oh no Spider."
A second said: "This is awful. I have a feeling Spider isn't making it out of this."
Another added: "OH NO HE'S GOING TO DIE!"
