WE'VE been treated to some tropical weather over the last few weeks, but now that the mercury has dropped Brits are readying themselves for autumn weather.

That means it's no surprise that a limited-time deal on a Repel umbrella has caught the eyes of Amazon shoppers.

The windproof, compact brolly has been reduced from £24.99 to £17.57, a saving of £7.42 (30%).

Although it's not a flashy brand, Repel is a well-respected umbrella company renowned for its no-nonsense, practical brollies that have a high degree of durability and reliability.

Customers rave about the brand's products, with almost 80,000 ratings of the discounted umbrella averaging 4.4 out of five stars.

People especially love its toughness, with one review reading: "It has proven its durability and resilience time and time again."

Another reviewer said: "This is a tough umbrella that can deal with winds up to 20mph comfortably. I found that at 40mph it will compress and not fully open - an excellent design so it doesn't break."

The reason Repel's umbrella is so windproof is its double-vented canopy, as well as the fact that it has nine fibreglass ribs, rather than the standard eight.

People also love that it's easy to get out and put away, thanks to a single automatic open and close button, and that Repel operates a Lifetime Replacement policy.

The only complaint some reviewers have is that its canopy is "just big enough", with an arc length of 42 inches (1.07m). However, this does mean that it's very portable, measuring just 11.5 inches (29cm) and weighing 425g.

Seven colours of the umbrella have been discounted to less than £20: Black, Grey, Navy Blue, Pink, Red, Slate Blue and Yellow.

The cheapest is the Black colourway, which is priced at £17.57 at the time of writing; the second-cheapest are Navy Blue, Pink and Yellow, which have been reduced to £18.49; and the most expensive discounted colours are Red, Slate Blue and Grey, at £18.99.

The Repel umbrella is also eligible for free next-day delivery for Prime customers, meaning you can be prepared for any showers that occur this week.
