CREATE a capsule wardrobe and you will get more wear out of your clothes and save money in the long term.
A core rotation of items should also mean less clutter and stress getting ready in the morning.

Here is how to start afresh and put together your go-to wardrobe for 2023.
MAKE WAY: Start by clearing out your wardrobe.
Be strict and remove items you have not worn in the past year.

Make extra cash by selling them on a secondhand sites such as eBay, Depop or Vinted.
FILL THE GAPS: Look at your favourite items and the clothes you wear most often.
Note the colours, fit and style you are consistently drawn to — these are what you should base your wardrobe on.
Think how items connect to others and where there are gaps.
For example, if you own multiple tops that only go with one or two pairs of trousers, consider adding a skirt that would match those items.
Kelly Thomas, who runs Instagram account
Little_Miss_Supershopper, says: “Plan outfits for the season and buy essential core pieces to create these — these should be easy to mix and match, so you have plenty of outfit options.”
SPEND CAREFULLY: Buy clothes purpose-fully and avoid spending on a whim.
A good way to do this is by earmarking something you have your eye on, then revisiting a few days later to decide if you really want it.
Kelly adds: “Do not be influenced to buy items that will never get worn, just because they are trending. Keep your capsule wardrobe to around 30/40 items per season, so you are utilising every piece.”

FOREVER PIECES: Where you can, buy fewer pieces but of a quality that will last, rather than lots of cheap items.
Sales are a great opportunity to invest in these core staples, including a classic coat, trusty boots and go-to jumpers.
Make the most of accessories such as a statement belt, bag or scarf, which give outfits a subtle new spin.
