Selena Gomez was spotted checking out of her hotel in New York City the evening after she attended the star-studded 2023 MTV VMAs alongside her pal Taylor Swift.
On Wednesday, the 31 year old hitmaker ditched the red carpet glamour of the night before in favour of an off-duty chic look as she emerged from the hotel. The former Disney star showed off her natural complexion and wore her glossy brunette locks in a side braid while donning an oversized loose-fitting white shirt over a white tee. Selena completed the look with matching white trousers and accessorised with gold jewellery.
She also appeared to be suffering from a wrist injury as she sported a wrist brace on her right hand while emerging from her swanky hotel. Selena looked in great spirits as she headed about her day after partying the night away at the VMAs. During the glitzy ceremony, the Rare Beauty founder, who looked stunning in an intricate red Oscar de la Renta gown and sleek locks, appeared to be having a great time, especially as she posed away for pictures with her good friend and fellow superstar, Taylor.

However, soon after, she ended up furiously hitting back at viral footage of her reaction of Chris Brown's VMAs nomination.
The singer was shown sitting in the audience as the nominees for Best R&B were read out, and when she heard the nod for How Does it Feel by Chris and Chlöe Bailey, Selena was seen grimacing. The clip of her reaction has since been shared on social media hundreds of thousands of times.

Selena wasn't too happy at the attention she had received and took to her Instagram account to comment on "being dragged". She posted a black background on her stories as she wrote her stance on the subject in white letters. Selena posted: "I will never be a meme again. I'd rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love."

Selena doesn't make a whole performance of this expression, there's no head-shaking or eye-rolling to the camera but caught in a still shot, it's understandable why it's been claimed she was letting her feelings known, either deliberately or subconsciously."
