Cher is rumoured to have rekindled her romance with Alexander 'AE' Edwards, following reports that they had split up earlier this year after around five months together.
The singer, 77, and music executive Alexander, 37, were spotted holding hands while out with some pals just days ago. The pair were seen out in California on Friday, which has prompted speculation that they may be back together.
They are believed to have begun their relationship towards the end of last year and Cher went on to share some insight into her partner during their romance. The pair however were later said to have separated in April this year.
Amid the rumours of a reconciliation between Cher and Alexander, we've taken a look at what we know about their romance. It includes her thoughts on the 40 year age gap between them and their professional connection too.
There was also speculation some months ago that the pair had got engaged just weeks into their relationship. Cher herself spoke about Alexander on a few occasions on social media, giving fans a description of the music executive.

She later confirmed the romance on X - which was known as Twitter at the time - in November and shared details with fans on the platform.
This included her discussing the age gap between them, with her having said that on paper the romance "looks strange". Further sharing her thoughts though, Cher wrote in a tweet: "Love doesn't know math, it sees [heart emojis]."
Around the same time, she also gave a description of music executive Alexander, saying: "I [heart emoji] him because he wasn't afraid. He's kind, hilarious, smart, talented [and] beautiful. We talk & laugh. We [are] perfectly matched."
'Engagement ring'

It's however since been reported that they weren't actually engaged (Twitter / X)The couple sparked engagement rumours just weeks after their romance is understood to have been confirmed. The rumour was prompted by Cher sharing a photo of what appeared to be an engagement ring in December last year.
The photo is understood to have shown Alexander holding a box that contained a diamond ring. Cher wrote in the accompanying caption: "There are no words, Alexander, AE." She later teased: "I posted this cause his nails are so cool."
However, weeks later, a source told People that they were not "talking marriage," but said they were "exclusive and serious". TMZ later reported that the pair were "never even engaged" and suggested the gifted ring wasn't a proposal.
Music collaboration

The latter was said to have been a music executive for Universal Music Group during his romance with the Grammy Award winner.
She teased that they had collaborated on music whilst speaking to E! News back in March, when she announced that she would be heading to the UK to work on two albums. Cher told the outlet that some of the tracks came from him.
"Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I'm pretty excited about that," she revealed at the time of the interview. Cher further commented about him: "He's a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I'm happy about that."

According to the Evening Standard the following month, a source had said that the split was "amicable" between the pair.

There was however speculation about the former couple rekindling their romance following the news, with a source having teased the possibility to the Daily Mail in May. It was around the time that Cher was celebrating her birthday.
The source commented: "She actually really cares about AE, and now that she's closer to her kids, she wants more stability in her life. Although it's off for now, no one in her close circle would be surprised to see them back together."
'Friends' concern'

A source said they have "concerns about where his heart is at in all of this," adding: "They fear Cher will get hurt in the end."
Cher however had previously addressed concern about the relationship in November. She responded to a fan who tweeted that they were "suspicious of his intentions" and were worried about her being "taken advantage of".
Responding, Cher said: "As we All Know … I wasn't born yesterday & what I know for sure ... There are no guarantees. Anytime you make a choice you take a chance. I've always taken chances." She concluded by saying: "It's who I am."
