Posh knickers with tights, cardis or coats and chunky shoes are the new order of the day — and fashion bible Vogue has given the look the thumbs up.
Designers such as Miu Miu and Chanel showcased the under- garment trend on their latest catwalks, but presenter Rochelle Humes was ahead of the curve, wearing a pair to the British Fashion Awards in London last year.
More recently, The Crown’s Emma Corrin sported a garish green pant set at the Venice Film Festival.

For most of us, the thought of leaving the house in just our knickers is the stuff of nightmares.
But celebrity stylist Martine Alexander, who has dressed the likes of actresses Kym Marsh and Michelle Keegan, reckons a pared-back version of the no-trouser trend will soon be on the High Street.
She said: “This looks set to be a fast-fashion hit with the younger generation.
“Companies like Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo quickly replicate this type of look and a more evening style of pants with dark tights would work on a night out.
“It’s almost like going out wearing a bodysuit with a blazer over the top, so it’s quite accessible.
“I don’t think pants that look like they have been borrowed from your boyfriend will catch on, though.”
