Nutritionist reveals five ‘normal’ things which might indicate mould poisoning

A NUTRITIONIST has revealed the five “normal” things you could experience that might mean secret mould in your house is poisoning you.

The Balance Bible warned that “mould spores can wreak havoc in our bodies over time”.

The points are backed up by the NHS which confirmed mould - which is caused by excess moisture - produces allergens, irritants and toxic substances.

A nutritionist at the Balance Bible highlighted constant congestion, watery eyes, itchy skin, brain fog and a metallic taste in your mouth as potential warning signs.

Inhaling tiny bits of mould may cause an allergic reaction in your sinuses and lungs, leading to constant congestion.

The allergens can also trigger watery eyes and itchy skin.

Someone poisoned by mould will also experience brain fog and be unable to think clearly.

However, the strangest symptom of mould toxicity is a metallic taste in your mouth.

The Balance Bible explained: “It’s possible that you have been exposed to mould through the foods that you eat.

“Some common culprits include nuts, cheeses, alcohol, wheat, dried fruit, soy sauce and old spices).

“Or in your house, often in damp bathrooms, kitchen with leaky faucets and basements.

“Mould spores can wreak havoc in our bodies over time.

“It is important to prevent moisture buildup in the home, and look for food companies that promote their products as tested and mould free.”

According to the NHS: “If you have damp and mould in your home you're more likely to have respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma.

“Damp and mould can also affect the immune system.

“Inhaling or touching mould spores may cause an allergic reaction, such as sneezing, a runny nose, red eyes and skin rash.”

People who are more prone to mould poisoning are those with weakened immune systems.

This includes babies, older people, those with skin problems like eczema and people who suffer with respiratory problems like allergies and asthma.

People flocked to the comments of the Balance Bible’s Tik Tok video to share their experience with mould.

One frustratedly penned: “The joke is a lot of people exposed to mould are forced to live with it due to the fact that we can’t afford to get rid of it.”

A second echoed: “My wife and I are extremely sick with mould exposure.

“We need help - so many symptoms and the landlord denies it.

“Lost my job as a mortician of 17 years from it.”

Another said: “I have such bad brain fog at 21-years-old, it’s ridiculous.

“My train of thought gets lost so fast.”
