The Prince and Princess of Wales' love story is very well known - and it is clear that they are just as enamoured with one another now as they were when they first met.

From loving looks to discreet gestures in public, the couple have many sweet ways that they show one another affection, which are surely the key to their long marriage. One of these moves is said to be a special nightly treat that Prince William brings his wife once their three young children are in bed.

The royals are just like us when it comes to having a drink to celebrate and toast to important occasions, or when it comes to winding down in the evening after a stressful day. Whether it be a refreshing gin and tonic, an cocktail or a simple beer, the royals are jutst like everyone else.

And, according to a close friend of the couple, Prince William always brings his wife a drink once their three children have gone to bed. While it was previously believed that Kate's go-to drink was in fact a pint of Guinness, it seems that it may be something else. A close friend of the Princess reportedly said: "William will bring Kate a gin and tonic. They look after each other, but in different ways." The couple, who first met in 2001 and married in 2011, are well-known for supporting each other's separate projects.

Whether it is the expert and influential way they combine forces on projects that support their shared interests, such as mental health, or the way they step back and let one another shine when their interests are front and centre Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! "Catherine has demonstrated in recent months and even years that she is the real deal. I think her strength is drawn from the fact that she was given such a long apprenticeship.

"Those nine or 10 years when she was allowed to see a little bit of what life will be like in the royal court were completely invaluable." She continues: "I suppose she seemed a little bit shy in the beginning. But I think if you compare that relationship to Charles and Diana, it strikes me that William deserves a great deal of credit because he has never appeared jealous of the attention that his wife gets.

"He has gently introduced her into what life would be like and has let her shine and constantly demonstrates that he's hugely proud of her. When she campaigns on certain issues, like mental health or early years learning, he allows her centre stage without quibble. They are an incredibly strong couple which gives her a great deal of confidence."
