THE wife of US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has begged Joe Biden to “protect his life” amid an escalating row over security.
President Biden is facing calls to provide his Democrat rival with Secret Service protection, after an armed gunman was arrested at a RFK Jr campaign event last month.
“It's at the very least, very disappointing and sad because clearly Biden is making it political… you're talking about someone's safety and someone's life. So it's highly disappointing.”
Now his wife, Curb Your Enthusiasm actress Cheryl Hines, has accused the President of playing politics in an exclusive interview.
Cheryl, 58, pleaded: "President Biden, I understand you do not want to be running against my husband, but that is indeed what's happening.

“And as a person, I'm asking you to protect his life - him and the people around him.”
RFK Jr, 69, admitted that he faced “risks” in running for the White House in an interview with The Sun on Sunday, after both his father, Robert Kennedy, and uncle, John F. Kennedy, were assassinated during their political careers.
And last month the Democrat hopeful was speaking at a Hispanic Heritage Month event at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles when an armed suspect posing as a US Marshal was arrested.
The September 15 incident took place less than two miles from where his father was assassinated in 1968.
Cheryl said: “A man showed up at the event with loaded guns and more weapons in his backpack.
“And fortunately, Bobby does have security that the campaign is having to pay for, who identified that person and held them till the police came.
“But it's pretty shocking that after that event, Biden didn't step forward and say, ‘OK, I understand this is an extraordinary situation.’
Kennedy Jr has stoked controversy for his scepticism of vaccines and America's military support for Ukraine.
Cheryl, who has been married to Robert for nine years, reveals that the Presidential hopeful offered to issue a press release saying the couple had separated in order to “protect” her from the backlash.
She said: “I said: ‘That’s ridiculous! That's not a solution to anything.. So let's move away from that idea!’

“I love Bobby and yes, sometimes I get frustrated. But that's completely different than wanting to be separated from somebody.
“In some regards, it was a sweet thought but misguided, like that was not the answer.”
Instead Cheryl has fully supported her husband’s presidential bid and is relishing the idea of becoming First Lady.
She said: “I loved how much work Hillary Clinton did as a First Lady. That was very inspiring. And also Michelle Obama, very inspiring.
“I think I looked to them… very strong women who accomplish a lot. I find a lot of inspiration in them.
“I have been fortunate to be able to travel with Bobby.
“I just went to South Carolina with him. I was on the road with him for about eight days. And it was amazing.
“And I was really surprised by it, actually. I thought maybe it would be boring just listening to… campaign talk all the time.
“But I found it really exciting - exciting because we moved so quickly from county to county, from community to community, and really hearing people talk and what's important to them, and people showing us what they love about their town or their city.
“It was really great. And I'm really inspired by Bobby.”
That Cheryl will be spending more time on the campaign trail is seen as a significant boost to RFK Jr by political insiders, who believe she will be his biggest asset.
