Patsy Palmer is hosting a five night hair-focused retreat in Portugal, with rooms costing up to £4,500.

Advertising for the Beauty Begins Within escape says the former Albert Square actress, best known for playing Bianca Jackson, will guide guests through the experience with her "luminous" presence. And the holiday is billed as "a mesmerizing journey of self-discovery, uncovering the secrets to inner peace, nourishment and effortlessly fabulous hair". Included in the price are an exclusive Manetra Method Hair treatment, daily Yin Yoga, meditation and transformative mantra practices.

Also on offer are "enchanting sunset sessions led by Patsy Palmer, igniting pure bliss" a "sacred cocoa ceremony" and guided journaling. The cheapest room on offer for the retreat, in Olhao, is £2,455 for The Old Kitchen, while £4,500 buys The Tower Suite.

The ad finishes: "Unleash your radiance and expand your wisdom. Join us for a magical retreat where transformation awaits." Patsy, 51, who played loudmouth Bianca on and off from 1993 to 2019, relocated to the States after leaving the BBC soap and now lives in Malibu.

After experimenting with drugs and alcohol as a youngster, she underwent therapy and has now embraced a healthier lifestyle. This week she posted an Instagram video that showed her practicing guided meditation and stepping into an indoor bath full of salts. She wrote underneath: "Just allow it to unfold. Meditate daily. It's the best thing I've ever embarked upon."
