Wrexham AFC owner Rob McElhenney has fallen in love with British football culture since purchasing the north Welsh club in 2021, and has shared his favourite phrase that fans use.

Alongside Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, the two purchased ownership of the club two years ago, with plans to guide them out of the National League and turn them into a sustainable EFL club.

The two effectively took the club from what looked to be a questionable future to one of the more exciting football projects across the UK, who look poised to gain promotion back to the EFL this season.

The two co-owners have quickly come much-loved figures in north Wales, having been seen in the city on a number of occasions, this season, with McElhenney in particular making regular trips from his home in Philadelphia.

This week, he stayed in the States to see his Eagles secure a huge playoff win over their biter rival New York Giants, hours after Wrexham won in dramatic fashion after a 91st minute winner.

The saying is a famous phrase that from Manchester United in the Sir Alex Ferguson era, described during an exciting part of the game, particularly the final moments of a close game in which a team leads by one goal.

Wrexham's Aaron Hayden scored a winner in the dying moments of the game to put the team level on points with Notts County, but the Welsh outfit also have a game in hand.

Wrexham also recently defeated Championship side Coventry City to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they are set to face Sheffield United.

It's been an emotional few weeks for fans of the club, after their famous Kop stand was recently demolished, undergoing a makeover after the Hollywood duo were given the greenlight to start work by the local council.

Wrexham's 2021/22 season was documented on the Disney+ show, Welcome to Wrexham, with the current campaign also being filmed after the show was re-upped for another series.
