A CAR expert who tested the range of six of the latest all-electric SUVs ended up stranded in a farmer's field.

Mat Watson, from website carwow, test drove the six electric vehicles (EVs) to test their maximum range.

Unfortunately Mat ended the mission stranded in a farmer's field after the Tesla ran out of battery.

He started the trip in a Volkswagen ID Buzz, and then jumped
into a Mercedes EQA. Next up was the Nissan Ariya, and then the
Audi Q4 Sportback.

The final two cars were the Genesis GV60 and then the Tesla Model Y Long Range.

Unfortunately Mat was forced to call the AA after the high end Tesla ran out of battery before it could reach a charger.

However the Tesla won the test, achieving a range of 285 miles.

The car that came second was the Nissan, with a range of 267 miles. The Genesis GV60 came third with a range of 253 miles.

It was then the Audi with a range of 235 miles followed by the Mercedes with 208 miles.

The Volkswagen ID Buzz, one of Matt's favourite EVs, came last with a range of 203 miles.

Members of the public who viewed the video posted positive comments.

One said: "Very interesting to see this test, as you were able to have the same route and weather conditions. Gives way more useful info for comparison to most range tests out there. Good job!"

Another said: "Being a Tesla owner, I get the awkwardness for autopilot. Changing lanes you have to be very gentle otherwise you disengage (as Matt did), it also has a fear of cones so I'm surprised it didn't push you off the road a lot earlier.

"Either way a great video and great comparison and some good looking cars there too. Personally I'd love a ID Buzz."
