GREAT British Bake Off has lost its second baker after the hopefuls were put to the test in Biscuit Week.

Keith Barron, 60, was shown the door of the famous white tent after failing to impress the judges with his bakes.

The contestants had been asked to whip up marshmallow biscuits in the Signature challenge, custard creams in the Technical and then their 'favourite meal' out of biccies for a Showstopper.

Unfortunately, Keith under-baked his marshmallow biscuits and now describes his custard creams as "embarrassingly awful".

As a result, the chartered accountant was given the boot - and he wasn't surprised.

Speaking after his GBBO exit, Keith said: "I was very comfortable at leaving, as I think it was arguably one of the easiest decisions in GBBO history, so it didn’t come as a surprise to me.

"I think I had to cheer up some of the other bakers rather than the other way round."

Keith added: "I want to do more and more baking – I am determined never to under-bake a biscuit again.

"And I want to tackle challenging bakes now that I have more confidence.

"My worst challenge was the Biscuit Technical - none of my biscuit challenges were great but there were some redeeming features in both the signature and showstopper that brought me a small degree of comfort.

"The custard creams were just embarrassingly awful…"

There was good news for one hopeful in the tent.

Alison's co-host Noel Fielding was given the honour of announcing Tasha Stones as this week's Star Baker.

Tasha is the show's first ever deaf contestant and wowed the judges - Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood - with her biscuit creations.
