Darren Moore has tried to play down his return to Hillsborough, just four months after his abrupt departure, claiming: “It’s just another fixture.”

Moore left Sheffield Wednesday following their success in the League One play-off Final, with Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri claiming he wanted a wage hike to stay, which he denied. He is back with Huddersfield on Saturday in the same week his successor at Wednesday, Xisco Munoz, was sacked and Under-21 boss Neil Thompson was appointed caretaker boss.

“For me, it’s another fixture, it’s the next fixture up for us,” said the Terriers boss. “Going back into that arena, I’ve got no problem. “We’re seeing it for the game and not the occasion really. I’m looking forward to going back and being in the arena.

“For me, when you look back at the time we had there, it’s been a history-making season we had there and nobody can take away the success we had over the two seasons I had there. I was brought in to engage with the club and turn around their misfortunes, and we did that.

“I’ve moved on now and I’ve really honestly got all my thoughts and attention here. Anybody within the professional game will know that’s how it works and that’s football. Whatever’s going on there is not my business now and I’m fully focused on my own team.”
