CELTIC fans have been slammed for unfurling pro-Palestine banners after Hamas slaughtered hundreds of Israeli civilians.

The death toll in Israel has climbed to 200 since the terrorists first started shooting killer rockets into its cities yesterday.

But in the hours after innocent Israelis were killed in the bloodbath, Celtic fans showed their support for Palestine.

Parkhead followers have often expressed support for the cause, but have been slammed for doing so at yesterday's clash with Kilmarnock.

During the match, the fans unfurled banners that read "free Palestine" and "victory to the resistance".

Dozens were quick to bash the Green Brigade for their timing, including an ex-Celtic star.

Nir Bitton branded them "brainwashed and biased" and accused them of supporting a terrorist organisation.

The 31-year-old left Celtic at the end of the 2021/22 season after nine years in Glasgow and returned to his homeland where he is currently playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Bitton shared an image of the display on his Instagram story and wrote a message to the fans over the top of it.

He wrote: "Shame on you."

Dozens of others raced to social media to slam the group, saying the Green Brigade should be ashamed of themselves.

One person wrote on X: "Shame on you for standing with Palestine."

Another said: "So Celtics stand with war?"

To which another said: "Embarrassing themselves as usual.

"You guys should be ashamed of yourself."

However, they did garner support too, with fans commenting hearts and saying how grateful they were.

One person wrote: "Thank you Celtic fans, you're the best."

It comes after a section of the Hoops supporters also risked the wrath of Uefa with anti-fascist and anti-Lazio banners during the midweek Champions League defeat.

They landed their club a £13,000 fine after displaying what Uefa called 'illicit banners' during a previous Parkhead meeting between the two clubs.

Along with the words "Anti Fascist Glasgow Celtic", the massive circular banner has an image of former Italian fascist leader Benito Mussolini — upside down — with the words “Follow Your Leader”.

There was also a message read: "Lazio Vaffanculo" - which translated into the Italian tells the away team to "f*** off".

The news came on the very same day the club hit out at fans after pyrotechnics in Rotterdam cost them a whopping £23k fine.
