Meghan Markle may be looking to prove the old adage ‘whatever you can do, I can do better’ as reports have emerged she is set to follow in her husband’s footsteps and pen her own autobiography.

The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex is tipped to put pen to paper to write her memoirs as part of her and 38-year-old Prince Harry’s four book deal with Penguin Random House.

The Duchess herself has already written a children’s book titled Bench which was released in June 2021 and Prince Harry ’s bombshell book, Spare, is due out next week.

The couple are tipped to be working on a ‘wellness’ book together - and Meghan’s autobiography is expected to complete the four book deal that they have in place.

A Hollywood agent told The Mail on Sunday: “I would find it surprising if Meghan didn't publish her own story, to be honest. Spare is clearly Prince Harry's chance to tell his, but hers is equally compelling. I mean, how many actresses end up marrying a Prince?”

They added: “If she's harbouring political ambitions it would make even more sense.”

Meghan has been rumoured to be mulling a political career - with dreams of running the USA as President and living in the White House said to be a dream future.

Previous Presidents including Bill Clinton, Barak Obama and Donald Trump all published books that clearly set out their beliefs before they launched their Presidential bids.

Meanwhile, another source told the publication that Meghan is: “contemplating getting entirely candid about her time in the Royal limelight… and leaving no stone unturned.”

Meghan’s memoir would, of course, follow that of her husband - and details of Prince Harry’s upcoming book have already leaked.

One advanced reader has claimed that it is William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, who need to brace for the worst when Spare is released on 10 January.

While Harry is expected to be “tough” on William, and will also “lash out” at Kate, he has reportedly been kinder than expected on King Charles.

The source told The Sunday Times: “Generally, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the royal family is expecting.

“Everything is laid bare. Charles comes out of it better than I had expected, but it’s tough on William, in particular, and even Kate gets a bit of a broadside.

“There are these minute details, and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.”

The source goes on to declare that the book gives the impression that Harry is still struggling to get over the death of his mother, the late Lady Diana who died in a car accident in 1997 aged 36.

The source reasons that Harry has “projected” his fears and concerns about his mother’s death onto his own wife, Meghan.
