Cher insists that she did not kidnap her son Elijah Blue Allman despite allegations surfacing from court documents.
In divorce documents between her song and Marie King from December 2022, Marieangela alleged that Cher paid men to abduct Elijah on Nov. 30, 2022. Marieangela claims that her and Elijah were in a New York hotel room when the incident happened and attempting to work through their marital problems. According to Marie, "one of the four men" involved in the alleged kidnapping told her that Cher was the one who hired them.
In the old court documents, Marieangela said: “I am currently unaware of my husband's wellbeing or whereabouts. I am very concerned and worried about him. I understand his family’s efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband.”

However, she did open up about her son's alleged struggles with addiction and the impact it has on her family. She said: “I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t. I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children."
The pop singer went on to explain that she's willing to go to extremes to help her family. She said: "You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is. But it’s joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them.”

He is Cher's youngest son who she had with Greg Allman in 1976. Cher and Greg divorced by 1979 and Elijah had limited contact with his father until just before his death in 2017. While Elijah previously recognized that his mother has always "tried," in their relationship, he also said "it will just take time" to fully mend.
Cher admitted:"I could fill a . . . I don’t even know, something gigantic with what I don’t know [about parenting],” she says. “I just keep trying.”
