One person questioned: "How in hell is Annabel Croft 57" while another impressed viewer wrote: "Ohhh, WOW! @Annabel_Croft doing a cartwheel at 57. Absolutely flipping awesome!! She’s FABULOUS."

Annabel had a difficult year after losing her husband of 36 years, Mel Coleman, who died from cancer aged 60 – just 16 weeks after his initial diagnosis. Praising Strictly Come Dancing and Joahnnes for 'saving her sanity', the tennis champion said the South African star was her late husband’s favourite Strictly professional.

The former British number one tennis player and broadcaster admitted she is “still crying every day” after the loss of her beloved husband Mel, but thanked Strictly for the "wonderful and joyful experience". Speaking to the Daily Mail, Annabel said: "I find the performing terrifying. I feel physically sick, but the effort involved means your brain doesn’t have room for anything else. “It’s bringing joy, or at least a glimmer of it, back into my life… Johannes is like an angel who came into my life to alleviate the pain, a little.”

Appearing on Lorraine earlier this month, the star said Strictly Come Dancing had been “a nice distraction from grief”. Explaining her husband was a “huge fan” of the dancing show, she told host Lorraine Kelly: “It’s been nice to do something joyful and use my body and try to rest my brain from thinking too many dark thoughts.”
