Phoenix Suns shooting guard Damion Lee left the sporting world in hysterics dressing as an injured Aaron Rodgers for Halloween.

Before the Suns took on the San Antonio Spurs in NBA action, the teams arrived through the Footprints Center tunnel, fully embracing the spooky holiday spirit of Halloween. Spurs No. 1 overall draft pick Victor Wembanyama joined in on the fun dressing as the popular horror character Slender Man.

Lee's ensemble was complete with all the necessary elements to mimic Rodgers. He sported an authentic New York Jets No. 8 jersey, a coaching headset similar to what he wears on the sidelines, crutches to simulate a "torn" ACL, and a green folder containing pieces of paper resembling a makeshift play-calling sheet.

The NBA initially posted a TikTok video featuring Lee portraying Rodgers. Since then, the footage was taken down and moved to Instagram as a collaboration post between both entities.

"We have a quick draw for Breece Hall just in case we need it, and a play-action read in case we need that," said Lee as he impersonated Rodgers in the video. "Just showing my guy some love because we're both going through some dark days."

Initially, basketball fans on social media expressed outrage in the comment section until they realized that Lee was suffering an injury of his own. One fan wrote, "A guy who got surgery on his meniscus mid-October repping Rodgers who is injured. Come on, don't make it bigger than it needs to be." Another chimed in, saying, He's literally injured guys, Torn MCL, so don't take it too seriously."

An additional comment read, "Knowing that he's also injured adds a lot of context". At the same time, another wrote, "I believe he had surgery recently, which makes it a lot less disrespectful than it would come across as if he was healthy. Don't think it was meant with any I'll intentions."

Rodgers tore his Achilles just four plays into the NFL season on MetLife Stadium's artificial turf field, after being hit by Buffalo Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd. Since the injury, Rodgers has vocalized a desire to get back onto the field ahead of his foreseen timeframe of next season due to his aggressive approach to rehab.

Two days before NBA training camp began for the Suns, the Phoenix-based organisation announced that the 31-year-old shooting guard would be "out until further notice" with a right knee meniscus injury. They revealed that the injury happened during an on-court workout at the team's Verizon 4G Performance Center, where they hold team practices.

The Suns guard underwent a successful surgery on his right knee in early October by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. He is the same physician responsible for repairing Rodgers' Achilles and Cam Akers' ACL and has built a reputation for helping athletes return faster than expected from their injuries.
