A new cruise ship is going to be a serious contender for having one of the best onboard waterparks thanks to its epic new attraction; an attraction that's a rollercoaster and waterslide hybrid.
Norwegian Cruise Line has given a first look at its highly-anticipated ship Norwegian Aqua due to sail in 2025, and it's going to have heaps of cool features for families. However, the biggest highlight has to be the Aqua Slidecoaster, the "world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide".
Guests will be able to take on the dual slides that feature a magnetic lift to propel you along two different courses - and you'll find heaps of twists and turns around the ship's funnel along the three-storey attraction too! But that's not the only attraction sure to get the adrenaline going.

Norwegian Aqua will feature a whole host of exciting entertainment from a 10-storey free-fall slide, the glass bridge 'Ocean Walk' for Instagram-worth snaps, and a 'Glow Court', which is essentially a sports complex with an interactive LED floor so you can play heaps of different games all day. Then at night, it transforms into a dancefloor too!

The ship will feature an infinity edge pool with plenty of loungers and seating, while the main pool deck will include perks like day beds for those who want a bit of R&R. Other perks will include the Vibe Beach Club for adults, but there'll be heaps for kids too from the 'Splash Academy' for those aged 3-12, to a teen club with its own dedicated space for those aged 13-17.
Norwegian Aqua will set sail in 2025 (Norwegian Cruise Line)For those who want to go all out with a luxury break, the ship will feature some fancy three-bedroom Haven duplex suites that come complete with living and dining areas, balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and 24-hour butler service. Haven guests will also get access to a separate infinity pool, outdoor spa and two hot tubs.
It seems that there may be more surprises on the radar too as the cruise line has promised that "additional new features and highly anticipated guest experiences aboard Norwegian Aqua will be unveiled in the upcoming new year".
For those itching to get on board, you'll need to wait for October 2025 when the ship is due to sail on a series of Caribbean itineraries from Florida's Port Canaveral. You can find out more on ncl.com.
Norwegian Aqua isn't the only NCL ship to boast impressive water parks. The cruise line's water parks are already a hit with guests with everything from splash zones and hot tubs to swimming pools and towering waterslides. Daring holidaymakers can take on Free Fall, the fastest drop slides at sea. (you'll find these on NCL's Breakaway Class ships), or get their adrenaline going as they slide down the 200ft-long Epic Plunge on Norwegian Epic. There are also plenty of splash parks dedicated for smaller guests too.
