Something that plagues many homes as the temperature starts to drop is condensation. It forms on glass when the air outside is colder than that indoors, so when you have your central heating on it can lead to water appearing on the glass of your windows and pooling on the sills below.
Condensation can quickly lead to mildew and mould appearing in your home, which can travel easily so won't just be restricted to your windows themselves. Mould can be a costly issue to fix, damaging anything from your clothes to your floorboards and insulation. It can also cause health issues, like respiratory infections, asthma attacks and even rashes - according to the NHS.
With condensation being one of the possible roots cause, it's important to head off the issue as soon as possible, but the good news is there is an incredibly easy hack that will take care of it swiftly and it will only cost you 30p.
Cheap nterior dehumidifiers were recommended by cleanng fans on the Mrs Hinch Tips and Tricks Facebook group, in which people advise each other on various cleaning and domestic solutions. A woman posted asking for help on how to deal with excessive condensation in her home, writing that it was "so bad the floor is always soaking wet."
Users were quick to recommend the inexpensive option of interior dehumidifiers, which she confirmed after trying them out had worked a treat to solve her condensation issue. When she woke up the following day to see her home had "no condensation this morning".

This type of dehumidifier is a cheaper option than the electric machines you may immediately think of when it comes to dehumidifiers: crystals designed to absorb moisture are contained inside a plastic pot. Usually they last a matter of weeks, so you will have to replace them quite regularly.
One fan noted noting that "you can get them from Poundland and B&M," adding that "you will be surprised how much moisture they take in." Another user agreed, replying that they "put these in my car. I can't believe the difference it makes."
The dehumidifier pots are available at many different retailers, including supermarkets like Asda and Tesco as well as online marketplaces like Amazon - Ashleigh noted that the dehumidifier pot she had success with only set her back a mere 30p.
