POLDARK star Eleanor Tomlinson is joining forces with Outlander lead Sam Heughan in Channel 4’s steamy new thriller.
The Couple Next Door is coming to Channel 4 later this year and is packed full of swingers, spies, and stalking.
“The Couple Next Door is a deliciously dark, psychological drama, exploring the claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your deepest desires,” the show’s official synopsis teases.
“The six-part series is an addictive, emotional roller coaster and looks at how we never know what goes on behind closed doors.”
This dark and steamy thriller stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Evie and How to Get Away With Murder’s Alfred Enoch as her husband Pete. The loved-up move to the suburbs and get closer to their new neighbours than they ever expected.

“When Evie and Pete move into an upscale neighbourhood, they find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety. But soon find friendship in the shape of the couple next door, alpha traffic cop Danny (Sam Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw).
“As time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other and one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever…”
Meanwhile, spies, stalking and suspicious intrigue take up the rest of the screen time, with Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis looking awfully guilty in the trailer.
The show is written by David Allison (Bedlam, Marcella) with Eagle Eye Drama and director Dries Vos (the team behind Suspect and Professor T) at the helm.
The Couple Next Door will premiere on Channel 4 later this year and will be available on STARZ in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Lionsgate+, their international premium streaming service in Latin America, including Brazil.
Filming took place earlier this year in Leeds and Belgium.
Celebrating the upcoming series, the Outlander star revealed a few behind-the-scenes shots on social media and said: “Such a beautifully talented cast and shot with our excellent Belgian crew, we were welcomed and made to feel very loved.”
The Couple Next Door will premiere on Channel 4 later this year.
