John Travolta honoured his late Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John as he recreated their iconic Summer Nights scenes for a new Super Bowl advert.

The Danny Zuko actor, 68, teamed up with Scrubs stars Zach Braff, 47, and Donald Faison, 48, for the mesmerising commercial for US phone network T-Mobile.

Paying homage to the 1978 blockbuster movie, John slipped effortlessly back into character for the slightly tweaked performance of the film's popular hit.

Singing familiar lyrics, John sings "tell me more, tell me more," while Zach continues "one cord's all that you need", as Donald finishes "don’t you worry ’bout speed".

The new advert continues with easily recognisable switch-ups, including the lyrics: "But, oh, that’s what T-Mobile can do."

Fans have flocked to John's Instagram in response to the advert, with one saying: "Omg this is brilliant! I love it." While another said: "Well, he's still got it."

Despite the very different words, the Super Bowl ad is still the perfect tribute to the Hollywood flick – as well as John's co-star Olivia who tragically passed away last year.

She died in August 2022 following a three-decade-long battle with breast cancer. "We will all be together again," John said previously in tribute.

This isn't the first Grease recreation from John for the Super Bowl, only last week it was revealed that he had teamed up with his 20-year-old daughter Ella Bleu Travolta.

The pair came together, recreating popular Grease dances, for Scotts & Miracle-Gro.

Ella and John starred alongside other famous faces, including actors Leslie David Baker and Carl Weathers, and NASCAR driver Kyle Busch.

It is thought both advertisements are John's unique way of paying tribute to his close pal Olivia, someone who meant so much to the Hollywood star.

Last September he remembered Olivia by taking to Instagram to share a picture of them both in the musical as their iconic characters Danny and Sandy.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: "Happy birthday my Olivia." Previously in tribute he wrote: "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better."

He added: "Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again.
