UAE's second-biggest city is known for its endless miles of terracotta-coloured coastline, desert, and year-round warm weather.

Ras Al-Khaimah, usually referred to as "RAK," is a smaller substitute for its neighbour Dubai.

In fact, it has often been dubbed the "cheaper alternative to Dubai," as it is more reasonably priced than its neighbouring emirate but still has plenty to offer in terms of attractions.

The city is great for any kind of holiday, whether you want to relax by the beach, take in the local culture, unwind with the family, or experience the longest zip line in the world.

With a length of 2,83 km, Jais Flight is the longest zipline in the world.

The adrenaline-filled experience lasts around three minutes going over 1,860 meters above the Arabian Gulf.

Visitors can test their bravery by experiencing the ride, which has a top speed of up to 150kmph and goes over mountain peaks and through narrow ravines.

Shopping lovers won't be short on options either. There are plenty of stores to explore, selling anything from well-known fashion brands to local hidden gems.

History buffs will also enjoy the Dhayah Fort, a historical site that has been there since the early 19th century and provides impressive views of the destination.

Meanwhile, the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah, which features artefacts and exhibits highlighting the Emirate's heritage, is a great place to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the area.

After exploring the area, you could unwind on immaculate beaches like Al Hamra Beach or travel by desert safari to see the stunning Arabian Desert dunes.

Ras Al Khaimah has a desert climate with warm summers and moderate winters.

Summertime temperatures soar, with typical highs in July and August reaching between 40 and 45C, making it also very humid.

The average daytime temperature during the winter ranges from 20 to 25C between December and February.

There isn't much rain during the year, so the destination can be visited all year round.

The best offers we've spotted come from Travel Republic, a travel agency part of The Emirates Group.

Some of the deals even include free upgrades, free child places and airport transfers.

The cheapest deal we've found is at Marjan Island Resort & Spa, which costs from £684pp for a bed and breakfast with return flights.

Another good deal we've found is at Hampton by Hilton Marjan Island, with seven nights costing from £740pp.

The deal, on a b&b basis, works out at £105pp a night and includes your return flight.

Alternatively, if you're after some winter sun, you could bag the same holiday from £810pp in November.

If you'd rather have your meals at the hotel, you could book seven nights at Intercontinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa from £920pp.

The price includes a free half-board upgrade, complimentary airport transfers and unlimited access to Planet Trekkers Kids Club and Teen Club.

Plus, kids get to stay and eat for free too.

Here are some more deals we've found to Ras Al Khaimah:

The holidays are ATOL and ABTA protected.

For more holiday inspiration, we've revealed the little-known beach resort with more than 300 sunny days has £26 flights and £2 pints.

Or the Turkish holiday destination fans claim is the ‘Maldives of the Mediterranean’.

Plus, we’ve also revealed the tiny Italian island only locals know about— it’s as good as Capri but much cheaper.

Prices are based on two adults travelling together and sharing accommodation.
