Scarlett Moffatt is engaged to her boyfriend Scott Dobinson months on from the couple welcoming their first child into the world together.
The Gogglebox star took to Instagram on Monday to share the joyful news, much to the excitement of her adoring online fanbase. "Mondays are my new favourite day," she captioned the post, which shows the words 'Marry Me' illuminated in block letters across their living room.
If that wasn't romantic enough, Scott also had rose petals scattered all over the white carpet, lit tea candles on the coffee table, and displayed heart-shaped balloons as well as a bouquet of lush flowers behind the message. Scarlett and Scott's baby son, Jude, is pictured lying adorably in her crib.
"Walked in to find my soulmate on one knee, with baby Jude wearing the cutest outfit asking the question 'Mammy will you marry Daddy.' The most perfect proposal in my favourite place, our home," the 33-year-old wrote. "I truly am on cloud nine, feel so lucky, it feels incredible being able to share this with you all, I always wished for this."
It didn't take long for Scarlett's followers to react to the announcement, with many taking to the comment section below to gush their congratulations for the engaged couple. Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby wrote, "Absolutely over the moon for both of you," echoing the sweet words of Dragon's Den panellist Sara Davies who said, "So bloody thrilled for you all this is amazing news!!!"
Stacey Dooley supported by fans as star 'mum-shamed' ahead of giving birthScarlett also took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate the news and to express her strong feelings for her husband-to-be with the following touching tribute: "17 years knowing you, five years loving you, 4 months of being the best daddy and now my fiance. I love you more than you will ever know, Scott Dobby."
Scarlett, who has also appeared on Saturday Night's Takeaway, has been in a relationship with policeman Scott since 2019. The pair have known each other since she was 17, but began dating after the I'm A Celebrity winner called emergency services over a suspicious character in her garden.
When Scott showed up, she immediately recognised him and sparks quickly flew. "Scott came to the house. My friend was in the house with me at the time and I was like, 'He's so fit, I really fancy him,'" she told the Mirror.
"She said, 'Why don't you just comment on a picture on Facebook?' So I commented on a picture of him and his dog Toby and put, 'Ah, cute... and the dog'." Scott took a while to ask Scarlett out on a date, and despite their disastrous first date, she decided to give him a second chance after her mum encouraged her to try again. They went from strength to strength but called it quits in 2021, after a 'stressful' period of moving house. Scarlett deleted the break-up announcement post seconds after he'd shared it, however, and it was confirmed that the two had reconciled.
