Hysterical photo as thief who stole camera sends live images to cops

A man has been arrested after he stole a camera which automatically sent pictures of him to the police, authorities said.

The Live Oak Police Department in Texas pictures of a man on Facebook asking the public for help to identify and locate him, alleging that he stole a game camera belonging and operated by the police department itself.

But what the man apparently didn't know after he allegedly stole the camera which was installed outdoors, is that it kept taking pictures after it was stolen, and those pictures were automatically sent to the police department, ultimately leading to his arrest.

In a post on Facebook, police said: "The Live Oak Police Department is actively working to identify an individual who knowingly stole a city-installed game camera. Remarkably, the camera is still sending images to the police department, and it's believed the suspect is unaware of this."

Police added: "If you have any information to help identify this individual, please contact Detective Andrada at (210)945-1734. Your cooperation is sincerely appreciated in resolving this matter."

In a later update on social media, the police alerted the public that the suspect had indeed been arrested after the embarrassing blunder. Plenty of social media users commented on the initial post, some even providing information on what seemed to be the identity of the pictured man.

Photos of the man were included in the post shared on social media by the police. The candid photos showed a tattooed man sitting on a bed with a woman lying next to him. Another photo shows a white car in a wooded area.
