Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney made good on their promise to throw a party in Las Vegas if their Wrexham players could secure promotion back to the EFL.

The club's Hollywood chairmen put the challenge to Phil Parkinson's men of doing what no Red Dragons team had managed in 15 years in returning to the fourth tier. Not only that but it was pivotal that the Welsh outfit won the National League outright to guarantee an automatic place in League Two.

As a result, the club's co-owners would provide their devoted stars with the extra motivation of an all-expenses spared trip to the US if they were to secure the championship. Goalkeeper Ben Foster spoke to CBS Sports during the run-in to the season as he revealed that Wrexham's famous owners had teased a memorable party in Vegas if they were to make history that campaign.

The former England goalkeeper laughed: "No, they didn't! They've promised us a big deal, though, at the end of the season. They've promised us a monster one at the end of the season.

"If we get promoted, they're gonna take us away somewhere with a lot of flashing lights," he added before the presenter chimed in by making a prophetic suggestion, saying: "Vegas!"

Of course, the Dragons would beat challengers Notts County to the title, sealing the deal with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood to secure promotion in the process. Their first title win in some 45 years would come after they amassed a remarkable tally of 111 points.

True to their word, Reynolds and McElhenney would very much deliver on their vow to take them to Sin City, where they would enjoy a four-day-long party of a lifetime. After two flights to the Nevada desert city via San Francisco, Wrexham's promotion heroes would let their hair down in true style.

They would enjoy bucket list-style extravaganza in the US, with such items as dining at the the Bellagio alongside co-chairman McElhenney and wife Kaitlin interspersed with nightclub visits to see superstar DJ Steve Aoki. They would also enjoy a pool party at Wet Republic, alongside seeing The Chainsmokers play at XS nightclub.

In the case of the latter itinerary item, it would be the Wrexham players who would be made to feel like the stars of the evening, as opposed to the chart-topping duo. Upon entry to the nightclub, the Red Dragons stars would be greeted with a banner bearing the club's name to herald their arrival.

Recounting the incredible knees-up stateside, defender Ben Tozer recalled one of the most unforgettable experiences of his life. He told talkSPORT: "We got there Thursday dinner time, they took us to Hakkasan for dinner which was amazing and then we went to Hakkasan Nightclub and they treated us to the best tables and it was just insane really.

"Almost everything was insane,' Tozer continued, "The next day they took us to Wet Republic Pool Party which was again the best tables and the best layout for us and everything was free, then in the evening was Omnia Nightclub and four of us got to go up on stage with Steve Aoki."

Following on from this, the honeymoon period would continue for Reynolds and McElhenney's heroes as they went on a triumphant tour of the US in the same summer. As they put in their final preparations for the EFL season, they would face Chelsea and Manchester United in a memorable trip around the States.
