ANDRE ONANA has reportedly confirmed he WILL represent Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

The Manchester United goalkeeper had retired from international football last year after disagreements with head coach Rigobert Song.

Onana, 27, was sent home from the World Cup in Qatar and it appeared that his international career was over.

However, since moving to Old Trafford in the summer he has reversed his decision.

Onana has gone on to play again for Cameroon in an Afcon qualifier against Burundi in September.

He has also played in a friendly match against Senegal in mid-October.

It has now been claimed that Onana is fully committed to the national team by inews.

The report has also claimed that he is planning to play in "every game that he is called up for".

Should Cameroon do well at the continental competition in January then Onana could miss a number of games for the Red Devils.

Onana could be absent for up to seven games should he reach the final with the tournament running from January 13 to February 11.

This would include four Premier League games, two FA Cup ties and a potential Carabao Cup semi-final.

Onana's absence would leave manager Erik ten Hag with a major dilemma in the January transfer window.

Only Tom Heaton and summer signing Altay Bayındir would be his goalkeeper options.

Heaton is very much viewed as a backup option while Bayındir remains untested in English football.

This has led to speculation that David de Gea could return to the club on a short-term contract.

The Spaniard was let go by the club after 12 years of service at the end of last season and is still a free agent.

De Gea, 32, has dropped a few hints about returning to the club on social media.
