Francis Ngannou told he "exposed heavyweight boxing" in Tyson Fury fight

Francis Ngannou has been told he exposed the best current heavyweight boxers in his controversial loss to Tyson Fury.

Ngannou lost his boxing debut to Fury this past weekend in Saudi Arabia, but the split decision defeat was heavily scrutinised as many fans felt he won. The former UFC champion exceeded expectations by landing more power punches than Fury and even dropping the Brit, only losing by one point on the judges' scorecards.

Deontay Wilder has since opened talks with Ngannou over a potential fight whilst Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed his interest in the match-up. UFC veteran Matt Brown has backed Ngannou to beat both Wilder and Joshua following his impressive performance against Fury.

“The heavyweight division in boxing right now just sucks,” Brown told The Fighter vs. The Writer. “These guys are not what we thought they were and Francis Nganno just exposed them. Tyson should have walked through him. He’s 33-0, the undefeated champion, should have walked through him. This tells me that the level of heavyweight boxing is very low.

"If he fights Anthony Joshua, he’s going to beat his a**. If he fights Deontay Wilder, he’s going to beat his a**. He’s going to go in and wreck the heavyweight division. He’s going to go fight Fury and he’s going to probably win. I think he’s going to wreck them all. I’m calling it now. Francis Nganno is going to dominate the heavyweight boxing division because they suck.”

Fury faced off with fellow heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk after his win but the planned December 23rd date for their undisputed fight has been delayed. Brown thinks Fury wasn't underestimating Ngannou and was fighting at the best of his abilities, but he along with many other fans overrated how good the Brit is.

“I was pumping up Tyson Fury,” Brown added. “I thought he was this and that. We found out who Tyson Fury is. He was not the boxer that we thought that he was. I think he took this fight serious. I think he went for it. I think he trained for it, and I think he’s been overrated this whole time. I think I overrated him. I underrated Ngannou and overrated Tyson Fury.”
