Macaulay Culkin reunited with his Home Alone mom three decades after the hit Christmas movie catapulted onto our screens and became a family favourite, and fans have gone wild.
The 43-year-old actor, who played the role of Kevin McCallister in the hit film, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday. The ceremony was a family affair, with his onscreen mom Catherine O'Hara, who played the role of Kevin's mom in Home Alone, in attendance.
Catherine, 69, attended the ceremony and gave a speech, with the reunion leaving fans completely taken aback as they mirrored a still from the movie that premiered 33 years ago in 1990. Making her speech, the actress said: "Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation.

The on-screen mom and son duo reunited (Getty Images)"The reason families all over the world can't let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin," she went on to add. She then spoke of how Macaulay carried out a "perfect performance" as Kevin in the hit movie.

"I know you worked really hard, I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do," she said, before adding: "Macaulay, congratulations. You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I'm so proud of you."
Macaulay then became emotional when he thanked both Catherine and his Party Monster co-star Natasha Lyonne. Choking back the tears he said: "Thanks for all your kind words and your stories and stuff. You know, you made my kids' dad, their papa, look good. And the most important thing to me is also that their papa understands that he wasn't always his papa; he used to be a kid too, you know?"
Catherine played Kevin's mom in the movie franchise (Internet Unknown)He finished off his speech by saying: "To wrap things up, and in the spirit of the holiday season, I just wanna say Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals," referencing the iconic quote from the Home Alone franchise.
Reacting to Macaulay and Catherine reuniting – just in time for Christmas – fans on social media have gone wild. "This is actually so wholesome," penned one X user. Another added: "In my mind they’ve been having Christmas dinner every year together."
"Omg, feels so good to see this," added a third. A fourth then said: "This is cute to see," while a fifth person added: "Well golly gosh, isn't that just a walk down memory lane! I'm all jittery thinking about how much of a head spin it must've been for the two to meet after all those Hollywood moons! Couldn't they just star in a 'Home Alone' revamp? Fancy that, darlings!"
