The show Wednesday has taken Netflix viewers by storm, with title actor Jenna Ortega bringing the creepy character of Wednesday Addams to life for a whole new generation of The Addams Family fans. It's perhaps therefore to be expected that some will now be opting to pay tribute with gothic, Wednesday-inspired ink.
Unfortunately, one tattoo enthusiast's new body art, which depicts the morbid-minded teen, hasn't gone down too well with everyone, with some believing it to look more like Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson than 20-year-old Ortega.
A photograph of the striking portrait tat, dubbed by some as 'Samuel L. Wednesday', 'The Samuel’s Family' or 'Miss Wednesday L. Jackson', has since been widely shared on social media, where it's been blasted by some as 'evil' and 'utterly terrifying'.
The pic was shared by amused Twitter user @TheeSocialitee, who tweeted, "The client asked for Wednesday but instead got Saturday night at the after-hours."
The tweet has since gone viral, with some remarking that the body art more closely resembles the cursed creature Gollum from the Lord of the Rings series than anyone else. Comparisons were also drawn with a 'voodoo doll', 'ET with a wig on', and demonic horror movie doll Annabel.
Horror tattoo bungle leaves woman blind after eye-inking goes wrongOne amused person joked: "I think this is Monday morning and not Wednesday."
Another agreed: "This is definitely a Monday morning after a wild Sunday night out."
Remarking upon a supposed resemblance with Samuel L., a third chuckled: "She already looking for a plane that contains snakes".
A fourth wrote: "Got Samuel L. Jackson in a wig".
It's likely this won't be the last Wednesday-inspired design requested in tattoo parlours this year. The supernatural comedy horror series has proven to be a smash hit, emerging as the second-most watched English-language Netflix series just three weeks after it was released back in November.
