The Princess of Wales grew up in a very different way to her own children, which is likely to bring with it some parenting challenges.

Where Kate enjoyed a relatively normal upbringing in Berkshire that was still more privileged than most people, the Middletons were still enjoying nowhere near the level of wealth of the Royal Family.

They were - as any normal family - anonymous and outside of the public eye before Kate's relationship with Prince William began when they both attended the University of St. Andrews.

On the other hand, her husband grew up under intense scrutiny, as her own children - Prince George, aged 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, aged five - are also doing. However, there is one specific reason why Kate is claimed to have fear for her daughter in particular.

According to one royal insdier, Kate worries that without a sister, Charlotte is missing out on the kind of relationship that she has with her sibling Pippa. Kate's beloved sister was a bridesmaid at her 2011 wedding at Westminster Abbey, and the pair used to share a lavish apartment in Chelsea in the years after the princess graduated university.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, the anonymous source claims that Kate tries to mitigate this by doing special activities alone with Charlotte. They added: "[Kate] realises that Charlotte doesn't have a sister to confide in or do things with, so she tries to do fun things with her."

The princess is said to have enjoyed a special trip to the ballet and a sleepover in a hotel with her daughter to enjoy some quality time together, where they 'ordered room service' and 'watched movies together' while eating sweet treats.

The pair also engage in hobbies like crafting, with Charlotte's interest in fashion and getting dressed up reported to exceed that even of her mother's.

This was showcased at the King's Coronation when Kate and Charlotte wore complementary looks - something that the mother and daughter are reported to enjoy when they get the opportunity.
