Mariah Carey was joined by Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson during a Christmas concert this weekend, with the trio having taken to the stage for a performance.

The singer, 54, embarked on her Merry Christmas One and All tour of the US and Canada a few weeks ago. She performed at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City on Saturday for the latest show on the festive tour.

At one point during the concert, Mariah introduced the audience to Jennifer, 42, and Ariana, 30. They were invited on stage to perform the remix of her song Oh Santa! together, following its release back in 2020. However, fans were divided over one part of the performance.

Mariah told the crowd: "We have two Christmas angels here to sing a song called Oh Santa! with me, and you wouldn't believe it." The Grammy Award then introduced Jennifer and Ariana by their respective nicknames JHud and Ari.

Jennifer wore a sparkling black dress for the performance, whilst Mariah was seen in a glittering silver dress. Ariana instead opted for a red dress and further showcased the blonde hair that she's been sporting recently at the show.

Her appearance has been a particular topic of discussion on social media, with some people unimpressed by Ariana's hair colour. One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Oh wow, that hair colour is NOT her friend."

Another said: "I've never hated someone being blonde so much before, that colour is TERRIBLE." A third wrote: "This blonde looks diabolical on her please Ariana this ISN'T YOU!!" Another reacted: "The blonde does not suit her."

The sentiment was also expressed by others, including one person on Instagram who wrote: "That blonde hair does not go with Ariana." Another said: "Ariana and her blonde(ish) hair is so not a good look for her." Someone said: "Those brows need to go a bit darker [...] Doesn't look good."

Not everyone was critical of the look though, as amid such commentary, one fan wrote: "I love Ariana's blonde hair. Idk why y'all don't." Another person said: "Idc what anyone says, blonde hair and red lipstick combo looks amazing on [her]."

A third person tweeted: "Am I the only one that loves the blonde." Others felt similarly, with one person reacting to her latest appearance after the concert: "Ariana looks so amazing. The red dress and lip with the blonde is so good."

Despite some debate about Ariana's appearance, the reunion of the trio at the MSG concert on Saturday was largely met with praise and excitement from fans. One person reacted: "So festive! So gracious. So beautiful!"

"Thanks for the amazing performance tonight! JHud and Ari truly brought the Christmas spirit alive on stage with you," another person commented. Someone else said about the performance: "This was such a BEAUTIFUL moment!!!"

A fourth person tweeted: "Absolutely gorgeous angels." Whilst someone else reacted: "Three incredible women shining like the sun." Others described it as "iconic" and one person commented that it's "what dreams are made of".

Oh Santa! was released by Mariah in 2010 and was a track on her album Merry Christmas II You. The tenth anniversary remix, featuring Ariana and Jennifer, was released in 2020. The remix appeared on the soundtrack of the Apple TV+ festive special Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special.
