Kamaria's other daughter, Taylor Logan, 15, is currently in critical condition in a local hospital.

Fox News confirmed that Kamaria was Mavis' niece.

Friends remember the two fondly, sharing their memories with the news outlet.

"They were great people. I don't think anybody deserved that, but especially them because of how kind they were to people," Kymarah Shakerin said.

She was a neighbor who grew up with Kamaria in her life.

"When I would go over there she would care for me like I was one of hers. She made it known that I was loved over there. She basically opened her arms and welcomed me like I was one of hers," Shakerin said.

Officers are said to have found Mavis dead inside a white Chevrolet Malibu, suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Cops had been on the hunt for the 52-year-old after three women and a 13-year-old girl were killed during a gun rampage in Memphis.

The suspect was “armed and extremely dangerous,” police said.

A shooting spree had taken place across the Tennessee town on Saturday.

Mavis was accused of brutally killing two young girls, two women and critically injuring another young girl in three separate attacks.

The wounded victim, now identified as Taylor Christian, was transported to Regional One Health Hospital for treatment.

Police investigating the death of a woman around 9:30 pm on Howard Drive connected the killing to two other fatal shootings that “involve the same suspect," CNN reports.

They then identified Mavis as the suspect in all three shootings and said he fled each scene in a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.

Authorities added the attacks have been described as domestic violence since Mavis was related to some of the victims.

As America is just one week away from Thanksgiving, Officer Chris Williams told WREG News Channel 3, "It's truly, truly disheartening going into the holiday season.

"As a father it breaks my heart, these are somebody's kids, sisters, aunts.

"These are people, real people and this has devastated an an entire family.

"We just ask the community, de-escalate,"

"If you're in a situation where you know it's going to get tense or there is about to be some issues or some problems, walk away."

Memphis Police Department released a statement on the incident.

"On November 19, 2023, at 3.31am, officers located who is believed to be the suspect, Mavis Christian Jr, inside the white Chevrolet Malibu in the 3000 Block of Alta Road, suffering from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

"Through the collaborative effort between law enforcement, the community, and the media, the suspect was located quickly without the additional loss of lives," credited the police department.
