After announcing plans to "give up smoke," Snoop Dogg seemingly revealed his true intentions behind that decision.
The rapper removed his original post that said: "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time."
Instead, he posted an advertisement for Solo Stove which is a 'smokeless' fire pit. "Give up smoke with the world’s most popular smokeless fire pit," the company advertises a slogan echoing Snoop Dogg's post.
Snoop's video set a solemn tone as he explained: "I have an announcement. I'm giving up smoke. I know what you thinking, 'Snoop, smoke is kind of your whole thing.' But I'm done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I'm going smokeless."

The video then showed Snoop sitting beside one of the fire pits forgoing any smoke. Snoop was seen roasting a marshmallow and laughing with a smile across his face.
Of course, fans who initially believed he was giving up weed were shocked by this twist. Snoop is known for partaking in marijuana, so by announcing he would be going sober, it seemed he was giving up his branding. However, fans were both relieved when this advertisement added some much needed clarity. Although it fooled many fans, he was also revered for his genius marketing move.
Fans were in awe at the way the rapper was able to generate buzz for this campaign. One wrote: "You fr stopped the entire f**king planet for a marketing strategy. I want my neurons back."
"We have been trolled at the highest level," said one fan, while another said: "Genius marketing here!! And we have a @solostove so I too have gone smokeless."
However, others never bought it to begin with. Another fan said: "And y’all thought he was giving up the herbal essence. This man gon be roasting his blunts over an electric fire in the backyard."
Many fans were frustrated by this 'joke.' They were previously excited to hear the news that Snoop was quitting marijuana and it inspired them to do the same. In an effort to grapple with the big reveal, a fan argued: "That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t stopped smoking, and it was just a promo for advertisement. it could just mean a company capitalised on his decision and offered big money. Snoop may still be smokeless y’all."
