The final fixtures of the Champions League group stage take place on Wednesday, with the likes of Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain all still hoping to book their place in the last-16.

Fourteen teams are now confirmed for the knockouts, while the eight clubs who finish third in their groups will drop into the Europa League. Manchester City and Arsenal have already qualified top of their groups and will be hoping for a favourable last 16 draw, while Manchester United crashed out of Europe by finishing bottom of their group on Tuesday.

City are the defending champions, having beaten Inter Milan 1-0 in last season's final to lift the trophy for the first time in their history, while the Gunners are competing in the tournament after a six-year absence. Here, Mirror Football rounds up everything you need to know ahead of the draw.

When is the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals?

The draw for the Champions League last 16 will take place at around 11am (GMT) on Monday, December 18 at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

How to watch

The draw will be available to watch via a livestream on UEFA's website on the day it takes place and will also be shown live on TNT Sports in the UK.

When are the knockout ties?

The last 16 games will take place in February and March, with the opening round of fixtures set to be played on February 13 and 14.

The remaining first leg matches will take place on February 20 and 21. The second legs of each tie will then happen on March 5 and 6 or March 12 and 13, with the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals then scheduled for March 15.

How does the draw work?

The eight teams which won their respective groups will be seeded, while the runners-up will be unseeded.

Seeded teams will then be drawn to face unseeded teams, although sides from the same national association cannot face each other. Teams can also not be drawn against each other if they were in the same group.
