However the hopes of the red side of Manchester have been dashed after Griezmann said he is planning his future at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Marcus Rashford makes tongue-in-cheek joke after being dropped by Erik ten HagSpeaking to Marca, he said: "I am motivated to be someone important at Atlético, to be a legend at this club.
"I know I have to earn it. Now I have many goals for this year, but I want to win La Liga and I need it. I've never done it and it would be nice."
He went on to say: "By 2024 I want to bring joy to the fans and some title for Atlético. It would be a dream."
It has been reported that Grizemann has a shockingly low release clause set at just £21.9million, which would make him an affordable target for Man Utd.
But the Red Devils may now cool any interest in a move with the former Barcelona man explaining his plans to stay and achieve big things with Atletico.
