The late May bank holiday is on Monday May 27 this year.

The weekend - Saturday, May 25 and Sunday May 26 - is a normal day, and so most store opening hours won't change on these days.

Aldi

Aldi said its stores are open during the late May bank holiday but opening times will vary.

Aldi has confirmed standard opening hours across its branches will apply on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

Stores in England and Wales open until 8pm on May 27 while Scottish branches close at 10pm as normal.

Typical store hours are in place on May 25 and 26, meaning larger shops generally open their doors between either 6am and 10pm or 7am and 11pm on Saturdays.

And Sunday hours are usually 11am until 5pm, or 10am until 4pm.

On the bank holiday Monday, many stores are operating at reduced hours and close at 10pm.
